It was cloudy, with absolutely no possiblity of rain in the near future. Rocky was twisting and turning in the drivers' seat, trying to inspect the clouds for a raindrop. Just one? She sighed, failing at her attempts, and stepped out of her car, slamming the door a little out of frustration.
"California weather is so stupid. It's almost October and NO RAIN." She muttered to herself as she walked around to the other side of her baby blue minivan and opened the door. She couldn't shake the insatiable need to see fall spread it's beauty around her, and it felt as though she was just being taunted instead. Clouds, but no rain.
As she pulled her books off of the back seat, her eye caught a dark object that had been hidden for months, and suddenly her day became brighter. "Well, I'll just pretend." she proclaimed to herself as her polka-dot umbrella swooshed open.
In her mind, you have to do the next best thing. And so she marched to class, books slung over her shoulder, umbrella in hand.
And a smile on her face.
